Over the years I have made a few different varieties of cashew nut milk. This one is my absolute favourite for mixing into porridge, breakfast cereals or hot chocolates/chai lattes and any other mouth watering beverage. It is a slightly sweeter milk which I love for bringing out the flavour of these these warm treats. ..Read More
I am a self proclaimed hummus and curry queen! These are my two go-to dishes, that I continually make and experiment with. It tends to be 'flavour of the month' with me, and once I find a new recipe I play it on repeat, like a Britney song, until I can bear it no more.
Right now, it's "Pumpkin Curry & Roast Carrot Hummus Month". My old faithful (roasted red pepper) hummus has been overshadowed by a new, sweeter kid in town.Read More
I visited Where Pigs Fly, just outside of Sydney, to meet Bubbles the piglet and the other beautiful creatures that live there. Where Pigs Fly is an animal sanctuary dedicated to the shelter and care of farmed animals. The most abused types of animals on this planet. It was really hard to comprehend that the wonderful animals we met would be DEAD and most likely EATEN had it not been for rescuers and the people at Where Pigs Fly…Read More
This Chickpea Tikka Masala is my new FAVOURITE thing to make. There are so many flavours and it's really rich, creamy and 'meaty' due to the mushrooms. The original recipe is taken from The Happy Pear's new book 'Recipes for Happiness'. This is my *slightly* modified Tikka Masala recipe for all my fellow coriander haters! Definitely a crowd pleaser.Read More
Since moving to Australia I have consumed LOTS of coffee (it just tastes so bloody good!) and have been exploring the local cafes. There are some amazing 100% plant-based eateries as well as cafes with awesome vegan options on offer. I have been making lists of the top places I have eaten in from Manly, to Glebe, to CBD, Surry Hills and Bondi... and a few in between! Here is my list!Read More
I have discovered some AHHH - MAY - ZING products lately, from sunscreen to natural tinted moisturiser to cruelty-free face wipes.
Vegan and cruelty-free products have come on leaps (bunny pun intended) and bounds in recent years. Here is a list of my recent finds that I adore...Read More
...ok bear with me if you saw the word 'cacao' and internally shuddered imagining chocolate mixed with black bean tacos.
These tacos are SO delicious and contain a small amount of cacao that increases the richness of this dish. What you might not know is that many Mexican dishes actually contain dark chocolate and cacao as a base ingredient! I tested this recipe over the weekend and it got my boyfriend's stamp of approval too...Read More
When I was younger I devoured novels, allowing myself to get lost in the fictional world of characters. I also read (a lot) of dog encyclopaedias.
I am currently about to leave Sydney for a month to travel up the East Coast of Australia so naturally, my first priority is deciding which books to bring. I have written a list here of some books that I bloody love and hyperlinked to where you can find them in case any tickle your fancy!Read More
I spent Sunday at the Sydney Vegan Market in Marrickville chowing down on ALL the vegan treats that I could handle. I had everything from chocolate filled crepes, southern style burgers, egg-free omelettes to popcorn chicken. Yes, I had to take a little nap afterwards... FOOD COMA.
The market launched Nov. 19 and runs every third Sunday of the month between 9am and 4pm. As well as food, the market also stocks ethical fashion, skincare, florists and a tonne of other stalls. There was even a kitten cuddle tent and a dingo cuddle tent with money going to the respective animal charities!Read More
As someone who has sweet potato wedges with practically every meal, a generous dollop (ahem, more like entire tub) of hummus is a necessary accompaniment. Up until recently I actually hadn't made homemade hummus and it came as a surprise how easy it is to do, not to mention how much tastier it is than store bought versions! Here is my favourite roasted red pepper & paprika recipe...Read More
