As a new year is here, it’s natural that we reflect back over the last twelve months and look to the future. Focusing too much on the past can lead us to feeling low, whilst fixating on the future and the ‘what ifs’ can make us feel anxious and overwhelmed as we wonder how we can set the wheels in motion to achieving our goals. We all want to be more present, in the now, but we naturally carry our story with us and hopes and aspirations for our dreams. Striking that balance between creates more harmony. But how?
Taking stock of the wonderful things that happened and what you’re grateful for over the last year, no matter how small they may seem (e.g. drinking more water or knowing some kind words brightened someone else’s day!). I’m a huge fan of just putting pen to paper as it makes me appreciate and really take stock of the wonderful things that have happened and challenges that I have overcome .
Looking forward to 2018, my intentions are simple:
- Drink more water
- Take my supplements
- And write down daily things that made me happy that day (I’ve bought a beautiful journal for this).
2017 took me to places I never imagined going to, both personally and geographically! I did my first 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, a further 30 hrs in Advanced Assisting, flew solo to Bali - overcoming my initial fear of long haul travel, and moved to Sydney. The reality is that NONE of these were in place at the start of 2017. In fact the only thing I had been mulling over was Yoga Teacher Training, the rest weren’t on my radar. Meaning that often the most wonderful things aren’t those that you’ve planned for for years, or expect to happen. That’s why I’m leaving my future intentions fluid and allowing things to naturally unfold as they are meant to :)
Wishing you all the most wonderful New Year x
